What is
included in a Home Inspection?
K.C. Home Inspections performs all house inspections using the standards of
practice laid out by the
Canadian Association of Home & Property
Inspectors.
CAHPI Standards of
Practice
We will
conduct a visual inspection both inside and outside of the house.
Should you be present
for the inspection?
This is a
good idea as it allows the inspector to point out any possible concerns and
explain them in detail. It will also allow him to highlight strengths in the
house being inspected. The inspection is a great time to get information and advice.
How long will the
inspection take?
This depends on the size
of the house, its age and the number of rooms. You should plan for between 2 1/2
and 3 1/2 hours.
Should you take notes?
Yes, take as many notes
and pictures as you want to. You will also receive an inspection report from the
Inspector.
When reading the report it is important to read the entire report
not just the summary page. If you have any follow-up questions after the
inspection, K.C. Home Inspections
are available by phone or email to explain or clarify any points.
What if I don’t buy
the house that was inspected?
K.C. Home
Inspections offers $75 off subsequent inspections if booked within 6 months. If
you decide not to proceed with the house purchase, please call us to do your
Home Inspection when you’ve decided on another property.
What if
something was missed in the inspection?
At any time after the inspection, or even after you move into your new house, feel
free to phone if you have any questions regarding the report or the house.
K.C. Home
Inspections will make every effort to give you as much important information as
possible about the house that is being inspected but in the event that something
was missed please phone and set up an appointment for the inspector to
re-inspect the item in question, at no charge, before any repair work is
performed.
